An American brothel-owner gets tied into the troubles of a serial killer loose in Victorian London, facing familiar characters from gothic Victorian entertainment.

Set in Victorian London, around the fog-shrouded streets of Whitechapel, Bang Up to the Elephant takes its inspiration from real-life mysteries and classic literature; combining them to create a new re-imagined world. A world where prostitutes roam aplenty and a Doctor experiments with life, death and re-animation. Where the murder and mutilation of the cities prostitutes haunt and perplex during the Autumn of Terror in 1888.

Season One will follow the life of prostitute and brothel owner Lilian Shaw as she becomes entangled in the lives of well-known men from gothic Victorian literature, the likes of Dorian Gray and Victor Frankenstein. Her complicated and damaging past will slowly be revealed; with it a number of revelations that change lives forever.
